I've never been a Halti collar and has a dalmatian five years the previous owners always used the Halti collar adopted.
This kind of dog collars that are not problems with the leash.

I like the idea that every chain except for a flat or nylon or leather buckle neck snap like a series of training sessions. The reasoning behind this is if the neck is not safe to leave the dog 24 hours a day, or your dog tie with an object, if it really is necessary, it should only be used if you actually train your dog or manage your dog (as in walking), while on a leash.

All "special" nature of the collar as coils, plugs, Halti, gentle leaders, training collars and harnesses are designed to control and your dog. Ideally used as training material - no substitute for training, but unfortunately, many people prefer to stay with them and make them a permanent solution rather than in the training of their dogs, that's what they intended.

I think the best goal of any training collar is the end does not need more. If you transfer classes, a classmate of good company to a flat collar with the times. Many courses are now available to take x number of classes orr time in training on the goal of passing his AKC GCG (Canine Good Citizen) certification. The GCC indicates that your dog has basic skills of obedience: sit on command, stay and come on foot or in a location from the crowd, with other people and dogs with courtesy. The GCC can not take on any type of training materials - in a flat collar or martingale Limited Slip only be caught. It is therefore a good target.

When is the Halti "natural" for a dog is hard to answer, because dogs are individuals. Not all dogs will, on the neck of the head when a Halti or a weak leader. Some dogs are very depressed. Others are sensitive to with a line through the nose below the eye.

Besides the dog, it really depends on the person with the halter. Correct (and a dog used) to accept this type of head, a good training tool. Once again - if used correctly, any type of training collar can be a good tool, like a drowning c.Ain and the collar of unsightly teeth.

But I saw the Halti many people are abused, and in these cases, I think it is very dangerous. I see many people who stop by a margin of Flexi that is not a no. I also have many people do you let your dog comes forward, then pull his head back.

Halter top is designed for dogs, after the head halters used for horses. In a horse, the neck of one of the strongest muscles in the body - including drawing and drawing, it is unlikely to harm the horse. In one dog, it is not the case. One jerk of the head collar can be (and was taken to complete) because of injuries to the neck and back to the dogs. It can cause bruising to the nose in the wrong direction.

Another very important thing to note is that the head collar, never had a dog that is relaxed, excited, or should play with other dogs. Frankly, it's just dangerous. But it is something that we see much in the parks for dogs (the quite different for the discussion are). Dog playing with a cabbagears on. Dangerous.

There is no reason why he should not continue to use the head collar on the dog taken - but please, how they are used correctly read. It is always useful to sign up and get a new dog obedience classes for him, the tools under the supervision of an instructor and obvious mistakes may be sent before habits. The ideal goal, but must Halti does not need a permanent solution. This is not what it was designed.

Tom is quite right to me, so why the thumbs. The proportion of people he know and others what they are talking about those who have no idea what it means to a dog or a training program, as it has to do!
The Halti is an absolutely pointless exercise, a number of points correctly installed works much better in most cases. Has anyone ever wondered why Tom cruel then called a tooth? Has anyone ever seen a dog reaches the end of the line, while the wearing of hard / soft Halti guide?

These collars are fine, especially if the dog is accustomed to - the main problem is the beginning and dogs in general dislike intensely! They are much better than a dish that, in many cases to draw a dog against it instinctively, and in others, and cause an accident, if not precisely cn. They are primarily a training tool, but if your dog pulls a person holding any harm!
